Back From Afghanistan

Back From Afghanistan

The staff at Indian River Medical Center welcomed back "Mr. B" on Monday, August 3. "Mr. B" is Robin Batchelor, a Physician Assistant who just returned from deployment to Afghanistan with the Michigan Army National Guard. He is pictured standing near the banner welcoming him home along with staff from the Indian River Medical Center.

Robin has been a member of the Michigan Army National Guard since 1997, and has achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He has worked for Cheboygan Memorial Hospital (CMH) dating back to 1979 and has seen patients at the Indian River Medical Center since 1996. Earlier this year, Robin was deployed to Afghanistan to replace another Physician Assistant who had to return stateside for a family emergency.

“Robin is a tremendous part of our Indian River Medical Center,” according to Bob MacKenzie, Executive Director of Affiliated Medical Practices for CMH. “We at CMH and Indian River are very proud of his commitment to our country and wholeheartedly support his participation in the National Guard. I know his patients, as well as all of us are glad he is home safely.”
