Hooping for a Cure

Pink Game set for February 25

The Cheboygan High School Girls' Basketball team is going to be playing a "Hooping for a Cure" cancer fundraiser game at St. Ignace on Thursday, February 25, 2010. The JV game starts at 6:00 p.m. with the Varsity game to follow. Proceeds from the event will go to both the Oncology Clinic at Mackinac Straits Hospital in St. Ignace and the Cheboygan Oncology Clinic. This is shaping up to be a great event. Each of our JV and Varsity girls has a $100 Jersey sponsor for their "pink" jerseys. The Cheboygan girls have been selling pink "Hooping for a Cure" T-shirts, and have held a bake sale that raised $406 already. Our goal is to raise over $10,000 between the two schools. The money will then be split up accordingly for each community's Oncology Clinic. The varsity game will be broadcast live on WLJZ, 94.5 FM (St. Ignace) and WCBY, AM-1240 (Cheboygan), as well as online at www.wcbyradio.com.
