McClurg to Lead CMH Board

Jamie McClurg of Mullett Lake has been appointed as the new chair of the Board of Trustees for Cheboygan Memorial Hospital. He officially accepted the position during the board's regular meeting in July. Jamie has been on the board since 2005 and takes over for Sue Eno who served as board chair the last two years. She remains on the board as a trustee.

"Our hospital board remains committed to the health of the community", said McClurg. "In order for this community to be strong, the hospital has to be healthy. While healthcare faces many challenges today, people can be assured that the board is making the right decisions for the long term viability of our organization. CMH plays such a key role in the future of this community and the region."

"I look forward to continue working with Jamie and the rest of the board members on several key initiatives to improve our organization," said Carolyn Riley, Interim President/CEO for CMH. "We are awaiting our official designation as a Critical Access facility which will greatly enhance our Medicare reimbursements, and our discussions continue towards affiliation with Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in Petoskey. These are both very positive moves for us."
